We do all of the other traditional things, although I think that Robert Burns is probably rolling over in his grave as my mother recites "A Red, Red Rose" in her Oklahoma accent!Nabbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15452631431357479401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747432130041051386.post-86725234168977222822012-01-27T10:15:02.239-06:002012-01-27T10:15:02.239-06:00I still love pink food! ;)I still love pink food! ;)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17025179704678543225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747432130041051386.post-22678288149041196362012-01-27T01:56:59.786-06:002012-01-27T01:56:59.786-06:00I once had a really memorable Burns Night when I l...I once had a really memorable Burns Night when I lived on a houseboat and was going out with a Glaswegian. We had all the traditional stuff including a Tipsy Laird pudding and he read Burns poetry aloud to me while I prepared the dinner. I made her 'luncheon cake' - a vast, weighty thing using tonnes of ingredients... I added my own little touches too: banana flavouring (why did we even have that?! Well, it was the 80s) and pink food colouring. He recited some kind of an ode to haggis that I thought was charming and then stabbed the haggis to a mild eruption of its yummy contents. I've always wondered about that ode; thanks to you, I know now that it is Burns' "To a Haggis!"Ton S. https://www.blogger.com/profile/10691201724230891974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3747432130041051386.post-75893146494788377922012-01-25T17:12:47.922-06:002012-01-25T17:12:47.922-06:00I don't eat lamb, but I do love your recipe fo...I don't eat lamb, but I do love your recipe for carmelized onions.
